As we scale, we are seeking a VP of Solution Engineering to lead our technical sales, pilot execution, and customer integration efforts. This role is critical to ensuring our customers experience a seamless journey from pilot to full deployment, driving technical credibility, solution adoption, and long-term success.

Job Description:
As the VP of Solution Engineering, you will build the function responsible for pre-sales technical engagement, pilot execution, customer onboarding, and solution delivery. Your primary focus will be to ensure that our NLP technology seamlessly integrates into customers’ healthcare ecosystems while demonstrating measurable business value.

You will work closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to design and implement technical solutions that align with customer needs. You will also be responsible for shaping the solution engineering function, defining processes, and building a world-class team that can scale with the company’s growth.

This role requires a technical leader with deep expertise in healthcare IT, data interoperability, and a solid understanding of medical languages / ontologies. The ideal candidate is highly customer-focused, capable of translating technical complexity into business value, and excels at leading both technical teams and strategic customer engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Customer Engagement

  • Own the pre-sales technical process, ensuring clear alignment between customer needs and the capabilities of our NLP platform.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, uncovering customer requirements, workflows, and integration needs.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and compliant solutions for healthcare organizations, ensuring interoperability with existing systems (EHRs, claims processing, analytics platforms).
  • Develop and present compelling technical demonstrations that highlight the business impact of our solutions.

Pilot Execution & Implementation

  • Define the pilot framework, including success metrics, implementation roadmaps, and integration requirements.
  • Oversee the technical deployment of pilots, ensuring seamless execution and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with solution engineers, sales, and customer success to ensure smooth transitions from pilot to full adoption.
  • Establish best practices for data security, privacy, and compliance.

Process Development

  • Define and implement repeatable playbooks for solution design, integration, and pilot execution.
  • Create training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance the technical expertise of the team.
  • Work closely with product management to ensure customer feedback informs roadmap development.

Customer Integration & Support

  • Ensure customers can successfully integrate and scale our NLP technology within their environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration guides, and reference architectures.
  • Work with customer support and success teams to ensure technical challenges are resolved quickly and effectively.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the sales team, ensuring all customer engagements are technically sound and feasible.
  • Partner with marketing to develop technical content such as white papers, case studies, and solution briefs.
  • Engage with executive leadership to provide insights on technical sales performance, pipeline conversion, and engineering resource allocation.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in solution engineering, technical sales, or pre-sales engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Baseline understanding of clinical language and medical ontologies (SNOMED) preferred. Hands-on clinical experience or clinical training is a strong plus. 
  • Deep expertise in healthcare IT and data interoperability 
  • Experience leading  teams in a fast-growing, high-complexity environment.
  • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong customer-facing skills, with a track record of leading high-stakes technical engagements and driving customer success.
  • Experience in NLP, AI, or machine learning solutions is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements and key industry events.
