Job Description

We are seeking a Clinical Informatics Business Analyst to contribute to our customer sales and solutions growth. The candidate should have strong experience in a clinical setting who excels in using their clinical experience to inform and implement customer data solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong clinical background and experience working with and interpreting narrative text from electronic health records for reporting and/or analytics purposes. The candidate should also be comfortable working in a technology startup or new business unit that utilizes a variety of technologies and adept at adjusting to changing requirements. This position will work at the intersection of customer solutions sales, product teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Informatics Business Analysis

● Translate clinical objectives into high-level extraction requirements for projects leveraging NLP and LLM technologies on narrative medical notes. Including, engaging with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify and refine clinical insight extraction goals.

● Create clinical concept definitions (value sets) and extraction guidelines to inform project implementation.

● Provide clinical subject matter expertise to customers and internal teams.

● Perform quality assurance (QA) review of NLP outputs against project-specific clinical use cases and guidelines

● Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on clinical documentation, workflows, and terminology across a range of therapeutic areas and collaborating with other clinicians when needed.

● Identify gaps in clinical coverage or terminology mapping and recommend improvements to enhance output fidelity.

● Define extraction libraries based on client use cases and product roadmap objectives.

Qualifications

While we list a diverse range of skills and experiences under our requirements, we do not expect candidates to possess every single one of them. We’re looking for someone who brings a broad subset of these qualifications, coupled with a willingness to learn and grow in areas that are new or less familiar.

● Strong technical proficiency with SQL, Jira, Confluence, LibreOffice, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, PowerPoint), project tracking tools, and workflow diagramming software Experience with python, PHP, or other scripting languages are a plus.

● Skilled in developing and communicating complex clinical business requirements and translating them into actionable solutions. 

● Clinical degree (RN, PA, MD, DO, PharmD, etc) required. This includes at least two years of professional experience working with patients at a healthcare facility.

● Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managed care or healthcare setting, preferably in roles involving clinical operations, utilization management, or workflow optimization. 

● Prior experience supporting or working with clinical systems and workflows (e.g., Care Management Platforms, EHRs, Claims Processing). 

● Familiarity with HEDIS, NCQA, CMS quality programs, or other clinical quality standards is highly desirable. 

● 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis.

● Familiarity with statistical analysis.

● Strong experience in presenting reports and analyses to leaders and customer decision-makers.

● Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box.

● Strong communication (in-person and virtual) and teamwork skills.

● Knowledge of Agile methodologies and applications in customer solutions.
