ABOUT EMTELLIGENT

emtelligent builds the language layer for clinical and medical data. Our NLP platform converts unstructured clinical documents into structured, coded clinical data that powers downstream AI, analytics, and decision-making for healthcare’s largest organizations. We’re a seed-stage startup based in Vancouver, working with national payers, data platforms, and health systems.

We’re not building another AI chatbot. We’re building the deterministic infrastructure that makes AI in healthcare actually reliable.

WHY EMTELLIGENT

  • Early-stage exposure — inside the room during fundraising, strategic pivots, and market entry decisions, not reading about them in a case study.
  • Direct access to leadership — work alongside the EVP of Marketing, Communications Lead, Growth Lead, and VP of GTM daily, not through layers of middle management.
  • Real output that ships — your work directly impacts how the market discovers and evaluates Emtelligent. Nothing you build sits in a shared drive.
  • AI-native team — we build with Claude Code, Perplexity, and Notion as core infrastructure, not as experiments.
  • Potential for continued engagement — exceptional performers will have the opportunity for ongoing involvement beyond the summer.

The Role

You’ll join the Growth team and work alongside the EVP of Marketing, Communications Lead, Growth Lead, and VP of GTM to own emtelligent’s digital marketing infrastructure — search optimization, paid media, website content, and marketing analytics. This is a new function for the company. You’ll be building it from the ground up, not maintaining someone else’s work.

The landscape is shifting fast. Traditional SEO still matters, but generative engine optimization (GEO) and AI engine optimization (AEO) are becoming critical for how enterprise buyers discover and evaluate vendors. At the same time, paid channels need to be stood up, the website needs a content overhaul, and leadership needs dashboards that tie it all together. You’ll work across all four.

This is detailed, methodical work. You’ll be auditing pages, researching keywords, drafting ad copy, restructuring web content, and tracking performance — not just writing blog posts. If you enjoy the painstaking side of digital optimization and want to learn how a technical healthcare product gets found by the right buyers, this is the role.

Your Projects Will Start With Questions Like

“How do we make emtelligent the top result when a VP of Data at a national payer searches for clinical NLP vendors?”

“When a buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity to compare clinical data extraction platforms, how do we show up — and show up favorably?”

“Our website was built two years ago — what does a best-in-class enterprise healthcare site look like now, and where are our biggest gaps?”

“If we had $5K/month for LinkedIn Ads, what’s the highest-leverage campaign we could run to reach our target buyers?”

What You’ll Work On

SEO / GEO / AEO

  • Conduct keyword research — including long-tail and question-based queries relevant to a B2B healthcare/AI audience
  • Execute on-page and technical SEO — meta tags, schema markup, site structure, page speed, internal linking
  • Structure content for generative engine optimization (GEO) — ensuring Emtelligent surfaces accurately in AI-generated responses from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and similar tools
  • Develop answer engine optimization (AEO) practices — writing content that directly answers specific queries in featured snippets and structured Q&A formats
  • Track rankings and search performance using Google Search Console and related tools

Paid Media Support

  • Assist with campaign setup and execution across Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads
  • Draft ad copy, conduct audience targeting research, and support A/B testing
  • Manage UTM parameters, conversion tracking, and campaign reporting
  • Pull performance data and summarize results for leadership

Website Content Development & Optimization

  • Rewrite and restructure existing web copy to reflect updated messaging, positioning, and audience priorities — without losing SEO value
  • Work directly in WordPress — editing pages, working with blocks, managing media, and publishing content
  • Translate complex technical/AI concepts into clear, compelling copy for non-technical buyers (payers, health systems, pharma)
  • Maintain consistent voice, tone, and terminology across all web pages

Analytics & Reporting

  • Build and maintain marketing dashboards in Google Data Studio (Looker Studio) spanning SEO, GEO, and paid media performance
  • Instrument the website for tracking — identify what to measure, set up events, and monitor visitor behavior
  • Use data to prioritize — surface what’s working, flag what’s not, and recommend where to focus next

What We’re Looking For

  • You have hands-on SEO experience — you’ve done keyword research, run audits, optimized pages, or analyzed web traffic. Coursework counts, but real projects count more.
  • You’re familiar with or actively learning GEO and AEO — you know that search is changing and you’re thinking about how AI-generated answers reshape discoverability. Deep expertise isn’t expected — curiosity and a willingness to learn are.
  • You have hands-on WordPress experience — you’ve edited pages, managed content, and published in a CMS before.
  • You’re a strong writer and editor — you can take complex technical concepts and turn them into clear, structured web copy for a non-technical audience.
  • You’re comfortable with marketing analytics — Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, or similar. You instinctively reach for data to prioritize decisions.
  • You have exposure to paid media — Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or coursework covering paid search and social. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable in an ad platform.
  • You’re detail-oriented and methodical — this is optimization work. You enjoy the grind of improving rankings, conversion rates, and campaign performance one step at a time.
  • You’re curious, driven, and collaborative — you like working alongside others, asking questions, and bringing energy to the team. You take initiative without waiting to be told what to do.
  • You’re interested in healthcare, enterprise software, or deep tech — healthcare AI/NLP is a niche space that requires a quick ramp-up. Intellectual curiosity about the domain will make you much more effective.

Nice To Have

  • Previous internships or projects in SEO, digital marketing, paid media, or content marketing — or experience building your own website, blog, or content platform with measurable traffic
  • Familiarity with SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Moz)
  • Experience with structured data, schema markup, or technical SEO
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager or similar event tracking tools
  • Experience with AI tools (Claude Code, Perplexity, or similar) for research, content production, or analysis
  • Located in New York City or Minneapolis (for occasional in-person collaboration)
  • Interest in founding a company or joining an early-stage team post-graduation

What You’ll Walk Away With

  • Hands-on experience building a digital marketing function from scratch at a real company — SEO, GEO, paid media, and web content, not inheriting someone else’s playbook
  • A portfolio of measurable results: search rankings, paid campaign performance, website audit findings, and marketing dashboards you built
  • Early expertise in generative engine optimization — a skillset that barely exists in the market yet
  • Experience translating complex healthcare AI/NLP concepts into buyer-facing web copy and ad content
  • A professional network across healthcare technology leadership
  • A strong reference from people who watched you ship real work

TO APPLY

Send your resume, a brief cover letter, and a link to something you’ve shipped — an SEO case study, a website you built or optimized, a paid campaign you ran, analytics work you’ve done, or any artifact that shows how you think about digital marketing performance. Send these to [email protected].

We care more about how you think and build than where you go to school. You must be authorized to work in the United States.

Applications reviewed on a rolling basis. Start date: June 2, 2026. Program runs through August 22, 2026. NYC and Minneapolis locations preferred.

emtelligent is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
